VLog 1, Explaining some features of Smart Homes
What are smart homes? Some of us know what a smart home can do just because of all the major brands like Amazon Alexa or Google Home or Apple Homekit. Now, the thing is that we have seen them working over the videos and we’ve seen the software part of the system which looks fancy. But do we only need software to control these systems? No. There’s also hardware part of the system which takes the command which you are going to give and get executed. Of course when you see the demonstration videos you aren’t shown that part of the system and most of all it’s all wireless, which means WiFi is there or RF (Radio Frequency) which leads to delay.
For having a Smart home without latency, without any lag we need to have a wired system. Now it’s not like these products (Alexa/Google/Apple) can’t be integrated with our system. You can enjoy all those fancy voice commands with respect to your environment. So we always suggest for you to have a wired back-end system. Also, i can not emphasize over the subject that we need a GOOD network for all this to work, we prefer using mesh routers, Gigabit network to run over the house which needs to be planned before hand. Pre-planning of a house very important if you want for everything to work streamlined as you see in the videos.
Also in the video above you’re going to see an amazing Home Theater, so let me just first bore you with the equipment which is installed there – For left and right channel we have Dali Oberon 7, Center is Dali Oberon Vokal, Surround – Surround back and Dolby Atmos are Dali E80, Subwoofers are Polk DSW 660 and SVS SB1000 – Two very powerful active subwoofers. OK so placements, Left Center and Right (LCR) are behind the screen also the subwoofers to achieve a clean dock in front. Oh i almost forgot about the amp, it’s Marantz 6015 it can handle 11.2 channel but we don’t want to overload the amp so we placed 9.2 channel equipment. The screen is perforated and flat, it’s 180 inches wide 16:9 screen, The perforation in the screen doesn’t let the sound to get blocked behind the screen only, it’s clean and damp. For projection there’s Epson TW-7100 and is placed at about 22 feet far from the screen so that it’s able to it produces this wide image.
For me having a home theater in house is very important that’s mostly because I’m a movie freak and i love to listen to music and listening to it at it’s best is what i need, the it’s meant to be listened. See you in the next blog.
